Century Correctional Institution Community Partnership Part III

Computers are available to aid students with their studies.  The programs that exist on the computers are learning programs ONLY.  Internet is not available.

If you have a computer that you would like to donate (even if it doesn’t work), contact Warden Whitehurst or Jimmy Rawlinson at Century Corrections 850-256-2600

Just outside of the education building is a large vegetable garden that is maintained by the inmates who are minor offenders.  All of the work is done by hand.  The watering of the garden is done by carrying buckets of water.  The convenience of a water hose is not an option.

The vegetables and fruits that are grown in this garden are prepared by food services for the inmates to eat.  This is a tremendous help in cost cutting.  Century Corrections spends $1.46 per plate.  This cuts down the cost that comes out of our tax dollars.  If there is more produce than can be consumed, it is shared with other facilities.  There is nothing that goes to waste.
