Rev. Willie Carter Day

Rev. Carter with Mayor McCall and Benny Barnes

The last week of June will be known from here on out as “Rev. Willie Carter Day”.

Century Area Chamber of Commerce Vice President Robin Punyko, who is the Local Manager of Gulf Power, told during the June membership meeting that

Rev. Carter, June 30, 1921 - October 7, 2012, always thought of others and he always did good things.

To honor him during the month of his birth everyone is urged to go out and do something nice for someone else.    Just to get you started, here are a few ideas:

  • Plant something in his honor.
  • Bake a cake for someone.
  • Prepare a meal for someone who is in need.
  • Give a word of encouragement to someone.

Be sure to take a photo or write a small article that tells us all about your endeavors as we pull together to honor one of the pillars of our community.  E-mail your photos and/or articles to kgodwin@centuryflorida.us so that we can share your greatness with www.centuryflorida.com.
