Northview High School’s Tribal Beat Band held an awards banquet last Monday night.  The evening started in the auditorium where awards were presented and a video compilation was shown of the students hamming it up to the song, "Cray Button" by Family Force 5. The Fine Arts Department honored all Seniors with a trophy.  Principal Gail Weaver read a poem that she wrote entitled What Is Band?   She later presented each student with a copy of the poem.

Fine Arts Director Elaine Holk called the band the State Championship Band in honor of all the practice, fund raising, time, effort and delight the students experienced while performing in the Citrus Bowl where our football team won the state championship.

She detailed the football games, parades, Christmas at Cordova Mall and the spring concert where our students represented us so well by the music, dance and flag routines and twirling they performed.

Heather Leonard of Heather Leonard Danceworks was honored for her commitment to the dance team, flag corps and majorettes who practiced countless hours in preparation for performance every Friday night last fall.

Mrs. Holk gave each a certificate, and Principal Weaver presented each student with a medallion honoring their trip to the State 1A Championship game in Orlando.

The banquet ended with a delicious catered barbeque meal.
