Jernigan Named PSC Century Director

Paula Chapman Jernigan has been named director of the Pensacola State College Century Center. Jernigan served the Escambia County School District July 1984 to January 2012. Positions included sixth grade science teacher at Ernest Ward Middle School; curriculum coordinator at Carver/Century K-8; principle intern at Carver/Century K-8; and intervention specialist at Carver Middle School. Jernigan earned a bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of West Florida in 1979 and a master’s degree in education leadership from UWF in 2000. She is president of the Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa Organization for Women Educators. Other affiliations include the Florida League of Middle Schools and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life/Century. Honors include the 2010 Century/Flomaton Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year; 2009-2010 Person of the Year; and 2009 Alpha Delta Kappa Member of the Year.
